But out of all… my personal favorite is Emily`s story…..It was a hot summer day, temperature was over 105°F. When I first saw her next to a busy, high traffic road I thought she was hit by a car but I couldn’t find any signs of that. She lift her head up and slightly wagged her tail. I put her in my car and rushed to a vet. She was super skinny and depressed. At the vet they confirmed she is full of hookworms. Her stool was pure blood. No microchip was found. 3 days later her stool got better and worms seemed to be disappearing but her appetite wasn’t great. And then she started drooling. I took her back to the vet, tested her for parvovirus, it was negative. Then took Xray…nothing. But at the time of the xray she started to show signs of muscle spasms. They said there is no test for it but 90% that she has tetanus. We received 4 different medicines. We were told she is going to need very supportive care and she has only 20% chance of surviving, and at the clinic they dont have the capacity to care for her.

She needed to be in a dark, quiet and cool room. After we got home her condition started to worsen quickly. She had almost complete jaw lock, heavy breathing and sounds like her breathing tubes are closing. She was having seizures. She got to the point where she couldn’t stand up alone because all her muscles were rock hard, she had very high fever. I was up every 3 hrs at night for 2 weeks to cool her down with towels, stand her up so she can drink. I was blending her food (chicken and rice) and fed her with a syringe. Her medicines were muscle relaxers, sedatives, antidote and antibiotics. After two weeks of treatment she was showing improvements. And after 1 months she was completely healed.
